Introduction

My name is Michelle Fedoryk. I'm at John Tyler working toward a nursing degree. Hopefully in a few years I'll be a travel nurse. I love to travel. I actually used to be a flight attendant, but I decided that living in a different hotel every night wasn't my idea of traveling. I think the travel nursing would be a better career choice for me because you choose where you want to go and how long you want to live there (between 3 and 6 mos.). The company you work for pays your rent, utilities, and reimburses you for travel expenses. Nursing has always been the only thing I really wanted to do, but I started working right after high school and before I knew it I had been out of school for five years! I'm glad I'm back in school but I really wish I had done it sooner, I feel like I've wasted a lot of valuable time.

Right now I'm only taking classes part time and working full time as a manager at Sears. I don't hate my job but I definitely don't want to be in retail forever. I'm hoping to get into the nursing program next spring, at that point I would have to step down to part time at work and go to school full time.

When I'm not at work or school I like to be outside. I spend a lot of time at Maymont and Belles Isle. I love driving up to the mountains for wine tasting. My brother lives in the Outer Banks over the summer so I spend a lot of time visiting him. He started to teach me to surf last summer and I'm planning on working on getting better this summer. If I'm stuck in the house I spend a lot of time online looking at travel destinations, trying to plan where I'll go next and what I want to see while I'm there. I also spend a good amount of time of Facebook, and I love Google. Other than that the only thing I really use a computer for is schoolwork. I dont have much computer experience and when I have a problem I call my 14 year old "computer geek" brother. He's saved my computer more than once.
